Shrimping season isn’t closed. You can shrimp today and bring home 144 big shrimp. Makes a pretty good meal or 2 anyway 
Baiting season is closed, but I’ve never done that or ever needed to, to catch some shrimp. Plenty of shrimp out there now.

If I lived on coast, the 144 limit would be OK. But I have a 70 mile drive to get to landing. Makes it not worth it unless I am there for other reasons – like fishing!!
