Happy Snapper & Merry Grouper

10 ARS(6 0ver 10lbs)
8 Gags (5 over 15lbs)
1 Cubera
BSB
B-Liners
Etc

X-Mas tips (my observations). Stay away from the main ledge and the g stream. Too many sharks. Stuff that holds little fish in the summer is holding big fish now. Anchoring is a key. Dead bait is working good. All of the quality fish were caught in less than 100’. Weed through the sharks.

Or, disregard and do what you know that works.

Just thought I would spread some X-Mas cheer.

sounds like a PRO TIP to me.

The older I get, the better I was.

Was it definitely a cubera? we get some huge Mangrove snapper in 100-150.

His fangs were defiantly pronounced. His color was more suited towards the cubera and not the mangrove. He was around 12lbs.

Just wondering, most we have got off charleston in the shallower water have been grey ( mangrove) snapper with the arrow shaped roof patch in the top of the mouth.

here are two of the ARS’s we caught that day.

Oh! Oh! you have a fish on! turn the knobby thing!

Could be a juvy Cubera, but unless you actually checked the Vomerine teeth chances are it was a Mangrove.

Nice day by the way.
