I guess the latest SCS mag article will thrill the locals. Even gave the GPS #'s to the “Grillage”![:0] No mention of venting the breeders either.
My issued hasn’t arrived. Who gave up the #'s
New here…what is the SCS?

Sportsman has been putting coordinates in a lot of articles lately. A little frustrating. I won’t be putting GPS #'s in my Southeast Region column in Coastal Angler Magazine.

South Carolina Sportsman magazine. monthly magazine. They’ve lately prostituted themselves by always having scantily clad women holding fish on the cover and top 10 GPS coordinates with tips for each location for different areas along the coast.
I say - stick to the scantily clad women, but let everyone else find their own fishing coordinates. Dumbing down fishing to sell mags.
Pretty harmless, actually. Who knew jetties, dynamite hole, grillage, etc. held fish? News to me. LOL! Look for the orange heli as a new crew of hockey pucks head out to the jetties with their Tom Tom in pursuit of the big ones!
Peapod does yours show up AFTER it hits news stands? THAT annoys me:angry:!

Re: “spots”…to me, its not about spots but learning tides current structure bait lure presentation. I’m a noob at salt fishin but I’m learning thanks to some nice people
Most of the gps numbers can be found on several well published maps that have been out for a few years now. Not many “new” spots being disclosed just expanding on info already available.

Who got credit for finding the spots?
That part always annoys me the most.
They credited Phin, right?

My issue came in last week. The spots they named are the closely-held secrets of about 50,000 Charleston Area fishermen. The Grillage, Dynamite Hole, S. Jetty Bend, Castle Pinkney, end of N. Jetty, and so on…gawd, next they are going to let out the Folly and Mt. Pleasant Pier numbers! Our spots are safe, and they sold some magazines. I am going to get another copy for a newbie friend at work; he’ll get some good start-up info out of that article.
Hot Spots map. About 70 GPS locations. Agreed, you can fish them for hours on the wrong tide and get skunked, but its a start. Helped me get a clue when I was starting out. Then you go out and find 70 more! LOL! Spots everywhere. Tide knowledge, more scarce.
