Headed out about 6 PM with intentions of setting up during slack high tide. Everything was going as planned. Left out of Shem Creek, got set up and waited till just before tide change to throw bait. High tide, basically a full moon. Ended up with less than 1/4 of hard to find bugs. Water was choppy, wind was giving us fits at the beginning then laid down, and the water was still pretty clear. Current was RIPPIN about two hours in and we almost lost a pole. The current had pushed our #2 pole over and we could only see the reflector under the surface with a flashlight. Excellent driver put me right on it and was able to reach about a foot below the surface to retrieve it. Still got all 10 poles. Yeah!!! It’s always exciting out there.
Thanks for the report, I hope to give it a try on Tuesday night.
