Had the day off to fish with my dad and son again. Stopped by Haddrells to pick up 2 doz muds and 2 doz shrimp which ended up being a good thing. Threw artificials all day, but it was live bait that took 95% of the fish. Caught a lot of fish, but most were small. We were covered up with rat reds all day! Totals were 20+ rats, 3 trout, 1 flounder, and 1 black drum.

Sounds like a good day. I have been trying to get my nephew on small reds so he won’t freak out. What kinda of artificials have you been using?

The main 3 artificials (besides topwater) I fish are DOA shrimp, curly tail grub on a jighead, and Z-man paddlerz rigged weedless on a flutter hook.
