Harbor Freight electrical components for rewiring

http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?category=&q=watertight

Dirt cheap relative to the other sources I’ve found so far, and there is a HF up on dorchester rd. I am looking at rewiring my boat and the heat shrink connectors were going to be a BIG chunk of the cost… these look to cost about 10% as much as some other places. Thought yall might want to know!

PS if you see smoke and smell hair burning near Bayfront come disconnect the battery and put me out!

Not saying they are bad, but I doubt their QC is as good as it should be. If I were rewiring an entire boat, I would spend the extra money for marine rated connectors. http://genuinedealz.com/ has great prices and selection on these items.

Electrical problems are the number one boating issue. Spend the extra money for quality electrical components. Fastenal sells tin plated copper adhesive lined heat shrink terminal for a very good price.

Check out http://gregsmarinewiresupply.com/Zen/, I bought heat shrink connectors and wire from them at a very reasonable price and they shipped fast.

I would have thought that quality marine grade wire would be the biggest cost. Labor (even if you do it yourself) would also be a big cost.

Do yourself a favor, use nothing but brand name, marine rated wire, connectors, and anything else when wiring a boat. There’s a reason Harbor Freight electrical parts cost less than Ancor brand. It’s the quality.

The link above http://genuinedealz.com/ is a good supplier of quality materials.
