Hard Fishing at Bushy-Any suggestions?

Been fishing Bushy a lot mostly incoming tide. Had something HUGE spool us yesterday, but it broke off.(STUPID DRAG!):angry:Using soft plastics and Yo-Zuri lures and not much action. Been fishing by the fuel station and in Clouder/Yellow house area with NO hits at all. Used live bait but the way we fish doesn’t work for bait. Whats working down there? Is it the incoming tide? Should we fish outgoing? Help appreciated!

I tend to do better on the back half of outgoing.

Been doing well using the ZMAN chatterbox baits… good luck.

When fishing the Cooper I always make sure I have enough fuel to make it to the Wando.

Thanks!

i do alot better on the outgoing to, i did good with artifical, but now since its so hot they been hitting the live bait under a cork pretty hard

Live bait has been the way to go for me…I usually use mud minnows. However, with all the hadens in the water right now…try them under a popping cork near the grass edges around the mouth of small feeder creeks…I always like the outgoing BUT when we were having those very high moon tides, I would catch more fish on the first two hours of incoming for some reason…Maybe because on the flood tides all the reds were up in the grass on high tide and filled up on fiddlers or something…Don’t know but they did bite better on dead low to incoming…Just keep trying and keep moving…And like hooked8 said…Hot months use live bait or cut bait!!!..Hope this helps!!

Thank you. Theres so much bait in the water, bu we can only catch Finger Mullet. We use those for the bottom mostly. We need a bait net because I think the small baits get away(mud minnow)but if we get them we will definatly try!

I wouldn’t be upset at catching only FM. Use a float and, sometimes if you score or fillet one side of the bait (start at the tail and work it half way up to the head) that really makes them the “injured bait fish”.

Umm, you gonna eat that?
