Hard rubber on bait well drain.

Anyway to soften the black rubber on the bait well drain poles??

Found this.

Method 3 Softening Rubber With a Soak

1. Remove the rubber part from non-rubber components so that it can be soaked individually. ...
2. Mix a solution of three parts rubbing alcohol to one part wintergreen oil. ...
3. Submerge the rubber item, seal the container, and check regularly for softening.

There are quite a few sites that have various methods (supposedly) of how to soften rubber.

“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?

I saw an old salt soften a rubber stopper by rubbing automatic transmission stop leak on it. That was some time back and I am not sure parts stores still sell the stuff but it did the trick.

Joe ; do you have any commercial printing shops nearby ???
They use a rubber rejuvinator on rubber rollers in their printing presses, if rubber isn’t dry to point of cracking it will soften it .
It’s also good to wipe on trailer tires to preserve them against ageing…If you can’t find it LMK , I might can help!!!
