I have a 08 F150. When in idle or at low speeds the steering is fine. Maybe a little to much give when going right. But when up on plain I have to put some force to turn it left. It almost feels like its catching on something. Then when turning right I almost have to go through 2/3 of a full turn for it to finally start turning the motor. I have never had this happened with any other boats that I have owned. Was wondering if anyone has had this problem before. I checked the power steering fluid and that was fine. I thought maybe a air bubble in the line and that wasn’t either. Any advice I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

There is a trim tab that hangs down behind the propeller. It helps the motor to run straight under normal conditions. If your motor pulls one way or another, you adjust the tab in the other direction. With power or hydraulic steering; you don’t feel the motor pulling with a incorrectly adjusted tab. Take a socket or wrench with you on your next trip and adjust it until the problem disappears.
Is this a new development or has it always been this way.

To my knowledge new. I bought the boat used about 2 months ago. When I tested it I didn’t notice it.

I assume its hydraulic steering.
check the torque tab above the prop, but my guess would be an issue with the hydraulic cylinder
