Hardcore Xpress Out of Commission for a While

My boat had been taking on water since mid-April and got worse to the point of me having to run the bilge every 5-10 minutes on Friday. The quick and dirty version is I took it in on Friday after the Wounded Warriors event and they found a major broken weld just below the deadrise. The good news is it won’t cost me a penny due to the lifetime warranty; the bad is it has to go back to Arkansas, meaning I will be without a boat of my own for 3-5 weeks. However, due to the generosity of my good friends, I’ll get plenty of hook time.

My focus this week has been looking after my prettier half Jennifer. She is coming off a surgery that a large number of women have to have and is doing well. Prayers for continued good recovery are much appreciated.

Prayers sent, good people usually get good results, you have always sounded VERY genuinely cordial.

God bless you and Jennifer, and family, forever.

Thanks Mac Daddy! That’s one of the nicest replies I’ve ever received. Much appreciated. God bless you and yours as well!

Fog, That’s good news about Jennifer. You’ve all been in our prayers.
I’m on call until next Monday for work. After that we can see about trying the green fish if you would like, or maybe even some of those pesky white perch.
If for some reason I’m not available you could always see if cousin Rusty is in town. I’m sure he would be glad to take you out anytime in his new boat, and it would be great for him to see your summer downrod techniques. He does have atleast one live well along with rod holders and Lowrance electronics very similar to yours. Your GPS might fit his wiring. Be a shame to leave all of those waypoints on Murray at home. Two rods, a couple of dozen herring, and you guys would be set. Take care.

Fog, prayers for Jennifer for a speedy recovery. You are welcome in my boat anytime.

You guys are terrific! When I’m sure Jennifer can get along on her own, I will gladly take advantage of your kind offers. ( She’s continuing to improve!) This could end up being a great opportunity to fellowship and learn from others. Yes. I’ve been at it a long time, but continue to learn every time on the water. Don’t worry Crusher. I prefer not to put out 2 anchors:)

Prayers for your wife sent from us Fog. Sounds like you’re getting pretty set up on wetting a hook in the meantime but know that you’re always welcome on my boat as well. I could always use some pointers from a veteran! I mostly fish on Fridays

Praying for a speedy recovery Fogman! You know you have plenty of friends on CF if you ever need anything!

Fogman - Sending out prayers to you and Jennifer.
Your boat is down for repairs just when your wife needs extra attention. Coincidence? I don’t think so. It’s all in the good Lords plans. It’s amazing how it all unfolds.
I would offer to take you out but I am currently boatless as well. Or as I prefer to say “Between boats”. Going through a little bump in the road ourselves right now but things are looking up.

Cheers!

Praying for prompt recovery. You are the man Lindler! God bless you!

Again, you all are the best! I’m truly humbled and feeling appreciated right now!

I went up this afternoon to get all my belongings out of the boat and took this pic before I left. The folks at Xpress said it would continue to spread until the entire port side would rip off:

Fogman; prayers going out for a quick recovery of your bride. just make sure that she has that bell to ring so you will be on call. i need to get my butt out on the water for some striper action. got a 19’ bay series sea pro. all rigged up. just not the best striper fisherman but we sure look like we know what we are doing. i am retired but do some dealer delivery on cars now and then . give me a call if you like and maybe we can hook up around the dam. i live here in lexington. bobby d. 331-8873.

Thanks Bobby D! We’ve got an MSC tournament coming up next Saturday; so I hope Jennifer’s going to be well enough for me to fish Friday and Saturday with one or both of my teammates. After that, I’ll be up for most anything.

Update: I called Xpress this morning. My boat is repaired and should be here sometime next week. The shipping supervisor told me they need to finish 1 more boat for the truck that is also transporting mine back to Newberry. Though I’m grateful for being able to get out 7 times so far this summer on friends’ boats, I’m looking forward once again to being able to just hook up and go when I’m free to do so.
