my plant in MHC says that the word is next week should blow up. (knock on wood) says the guides are saying its pushing towards a peak and the water is just about at the magic temp.
Also large schools of reds are cruising the breakers along shackleford. THey are sight fishing to them with pink jigs, but I think a pink clouser might do the trick. Apparently the mullet are pushing out into open water in huge schools along the beach. I think I’m gettin excited…
Oh yea, no wife and kids and all the beer I can drink for 5 days. I know I’m gettin excited…
Fished all last weekend on Harkers. Had a blast, caught lots of trout and reds (oh and a ton of blues in the 10-15" range) but never could get the albie. My suggestion is to head out to the jetties on the spit. Saw huge schools of albies working bait but could never get there in time. Also check out Brian Horsley’s board…he posts daily fishing reports from Harkers.
