Hartwell report

I fished a local tx on Saturday, not much of a tx fisherman but it was a fund raiser for Children with Cancer.

We had the boat in the water at 6am and were actually fishing on the channel where we launched so I never even cranked up the big motor till after lunch.

Before we could get the 2nd line in the water the first line was hooked up. It was like a chinese fire drill for the first 30-40 minutes but all were small hybird in the 2-5lb range. I am not much for leaving biting fish but we were looking for something bigger so we moved away from the “pesky little hybrids” while looking for bigger fish.

We were using blue backs and even had a few trout that we pulled all day but nothing more than small fish. Biggest fish we caught was 6 lbs

Lot of fun but nothing for the weigh in

Where might someone find some of those pesky little hybrids? I have a small frying pan.
Thanks,
Taz

We were covered up with them in 18 mile creek which is off the Seneca River.

We put in at 18 mile creek landing and never even cranked the big motor and had fish all over the place.
I talked with a buddy that fished way back in 18 mile creek and he ended up catching 15 on jigs and rooster tails
We were using live bait
