Hartwell

Has anyone been catching any stripers on Hartwell? I went last night for a little while in the Martin’s Creek area and only saw a few very small stripers caught. A lot of 6-10 inch baitfish were there but no large stripers. I tried live and cut bait.

I’d rather fish than eat.

Been going every weekend but this one. A lot of action right now with mid ranged fish. Stripers 8-10 lbs hybrids around 5 lbs. Today was a good day to go but had other plans.

My boss took me out with a guide last tues. …we caught 10 between apple and anderson islands…fishing live herring 3 cranks off the bottom over a hump up to 39 ft.

Hey Benny,

sorry I missed your call the other day but just checked my VM Sat:frowning_face::frowning_face:

We did pick up a few in the evening last weekend(Memorial Day) on leadcore line and downriggers. That bite should really start up in 2-3 weeks.

We will get together and go then if you like, I will be tied up this friday with a Westside High Booster Club golf tx. I may try and go Friday 13th if my schedule works out and hit the deep water around the dam if the fish are there.

Stay in touch.

I did see a lot of guys night fishing over the trees in the Coneross area last weekend and understand that they have had a decent bite during the am on downlines also around there.

Sea Pro 210cc
Yamaha 200 4 Stroke
Dodge 1500 4x4 HEMI

Thanks for the replies. I may go this Friday if everything works out and try a planerboard I’m working on.

We went out Friday evening. to Lightwood and surrounding areas. Pulled some downlines until dark and caught a few small ones. Then tried to cut bait until about 1:30am. A few small hybrids and catfish was all. Did not mark any fish in the deepwater down the lake but did not search too long. Should not be long though. Surprised to not see any schooling action and it was good conditions for it - both Friday evening and last weekend one morning on the lower end.

Change in plans, going to Springmaid for the weekend.

I typically fish the Seneca Creek and Seneca River area, have been unable to fish for the last 4 weeks due to millitary duty. Is anyone catching any stripers still in this area? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Why do today What you can put off til tommorrow to go FISHING!
