Has anyone ever had this happen? Too funny.

Was fly fishing the flats with my brother last week on the flood tides. My brother had gotten out of the boat and was walking when I spotted a tail. I pointed it out to him and he slowly walked to casting distance and started throwing his fly. Threw it all around him and on him and tail never moved. He said, this must be a dead red. Maybe one we hooked earlier and did not survive. He walked over to it and grabbed the tail. This red went crazy, swirled and took off like lightning. You should have seen the expression on my brothers face. Laughed till I cried. I think he invented a new sport. No tackle, you just sneak up on them and grab them by the tail lol. Wonder if anyone has ever caught one this way? Was just too funny.

If that’s all I have to worry about…there’s nothing to worry about.

Thats Funny Right There…

Woodfloats?

Now that would be a unspookable red …

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

Reds have been sucking on crabs pretty hard lately. Last time out, the water was crystal clear and then you would see a dirty circle starting to form. The reds are trying to suck the crabs up out of the mud and a mud plume will form. Sometimes you see the tail and sometimes the water is too deep. This is the first year that I have seen it VERY clear. Might have been a fish with his head, hard on a crab hole.

Wasn’t there but, that is my guess.
