We (Joey Herring, Mythosbeer, Sea-Dragon and Custon Canvas) fished the Little Clam today…regardless of the conditions. We headed out to 550ft of water in search of snowy groupers and tile fish. The water temp was a cold 60 degrees. We caught 2 snowys, one yellow edge grouper and 3 tile fish. On our thrid drift or sixth drift we hooked up on 3 blue fin. Zach(Custom Canvas) caught 1 out of three on that drift going 110lbs just after Mitch (mythosbeer) broke a nice one off. The second drift Joey hooks up again using an classic flat side “pot Roast” jig from Eastern Tackle. This is a whopper!! after a 5 second fight…the drag smells like a burnt out clutch and the fish breaks off just before spolling him. Moments later Sea-Dragon hooks up on another 100 lb class tuna using the same type of jig. This fish was released. We headed back after hearing a report from the mainland that the wind was starting to kick up. We got wet, cold, and fish bloody!! Pictures coming…
