haulin' crab//with daddy pics

ok…heres some pics from my trip out with daddy to bring his pots in last Monday. we had a blast…brought in 25…went out and fished and shrimped a while…and brought more in on our way back in…what a awesome day on the water we had!! woo hoo…we caught fish every where we went…saw some friends on the water…even a few folks from here…caught some shrimp and shared a lot of laughs…a LOT of laughs. Daddy called me “sanford” as I caught just about every trash fish there was at first …as I watched daddy reel in fish after fish…even when I “accidently” threw right on top of him a few times:wink::imp:

no lie…
I caught…

2 ribbon fish…which daddy said to put in my hair:flushed: haha
2 shark
7 puffer fish
1 toad fish
1 stingray
1 crab
3 lady fish
pinfish
croaker
5 oyster shells…really:smiley:
:yawning_face::question: lol…
even myself once!

then finally weeded through those and tore the trout and reds up…fished,… and caught … until I was worn out!!!..even caught a couple black drum to top the day…

heres some pics…

good morning Mr. Sun…and THIS…is what I call CAROLINA GOLD:smiley:

All I can say is AWESOME. I can’t wait to get out this weekend.

18’ Hewes Bayfisher/115 4 Stroke Yamaha/6’Powerpole, etc

Ain’t nothin’ like a warm sky mornin’ on the water with the parents. great pictures!

Thanks from Atlanta for your many photos on this site! Your love for your Daddy touches my heart! From a 66 year old former Marine!!!

Coming from the middle of the midwest I always look forward to your posts…and you didn’t fail me again! I know it had to have been a bittersweet day but more memories were made and I’d bet that “Mr Penny’s Dad Sir!” was still teaching new lessons. Excellent pictures!! Only another month before we’ll be down to get our “never enough” fix of the lowcountry again.

How big was that gag?

As a kid, we were told that those were “Trader Fish”. You threw out your bait and then the Trader Fish would remove the bait and place on a shell or weed or old oyster in trade. I fished hard to catch one of those Trader Fish until I got “the talk” about Santa and Trader Fish. It was a sad year for a little boy.

All was forgiven when the next Christmas came around and I started focusing on flounder and trout and reds sheeps and…

rap…the gag was about 9-10 inches…and caught in a creek…a small creek…I was suprised too… We .ve been catching a Stallone here and there…but that one was bigger…and really pretty…ferocious little fella… There were at least 20 or so little spades in the pots we pulled…all about the size of a dollar piece, as well as a couple flounder ?..all were just fine…daddy had left the pots open.

Biggerthanyours…I brought that me home and am going to make a necklace out of it…really…going to hang a pretty green or blue bead down from the center and put it on a leather string…Lowcountry jewelry. Lol…

Mr bill and dadsfr… …my daddy always amazes me. I know some may get tired of my rambling posts…but to those of you that like it…thanks…and glad I can share my trips with you. Daddy makes me laugh so hard…fish steal his “bacon”…his cork is a “bobber”. The bank is “the hill”. A empty hook is one that is “skinny dippin”…bait snatching Fish are “pick pockets”. … Sharks are…ok…best not post that ;). Hahaha…he calls sting rays “Georgetown flounders”. That’s because brother in law is from gtown. His finger is “his fin-ner” …and his stories of things he has seen and done never end…and always make me feel as of I were there too. I told him he should start up and run a “Eco” tour…he laughed and said…why’s that…wouldn’t hearing it “once” be enough (echo).

I don’t know if I’ve ever replied to a post of yours, but I sure don’t miss reading one. Thank you so much for the stories and pictures. Well done. Maybe my 4 year old girl will one day say the nice things you do.

Ha, Penny you Daddy now has a new name! From now on, it’s for sure, Mr. Penny’s Daddy, Sir. I’m just glad, I’m the one that hung it on him. Can’t wait until someone runs into him on the water and calls him that! Now, that will be funny and I’m sure you’ll share it with us!

Thanks everyone…

And mr easy…I told him you named him that and he just grinned

Penny, many thanks from an old soldier that grew up in the West Ashley area in the early 60’s. I live in the Upstate now. I have many memories of roaming the marshes there and fishing off the dock at Coburg Dairy. The owners were kind enough to put up with us kids fishing ,crabbing and playing in the woods on their property. That was back in the days when liability was kinda over looked. Your pics are book worthy, in my opinion. Have you ever considered publishing them?

Nice pics penny and a exciting story to go with it. When I see any of your post I already expect to see some good photos and an interesting story behind them.

I agree! What kind of camera are you snapping those pics with?

I ts a old canon g9… No extra lens…funny thing is I got a new camera with 3 different lens this year and it sits I it’s pretty case because I can’t work it as easily …too many bells and whisles…and this one is safe to travel I the boat.
