Bad habit
be careful using just those spacers under the deck mount
you also MUST support the trolling motor base as well, if not, you are going to torque the bracket, and the quick connect pin isn’t made to carry that kind of load

I agree with Chris, don’t use those spacers. They won’t distribute the forces well enough. Go with a solid starboard spacer.
