Yesterday afternoon the ocean was about as smooth as it gets. But that revealed there is an unusual amount of floating debris, maybe left from Matthew? We saw two trees and another large thing, any of which could do serious damage to a boat, near our path returning from 100’. I suggest everyone pay close attention, and not run In the dark, for a while. The last couple of trips we did not notice this stuff. Maybe the chop hid it?
We caught/returned one large snapper, got three triggers, and a number of just legal BSB’s. There was much surface activity, as the ocean was quite alive.
We were out Wednesday and it was the same thing, glassy calm and we saw 4 entire palm trees as well as lots of other debris throughout the day. I think it was from the extremely high tides this week washing stuff out of the marsh.
