I have read on this site that 3M 5200 will bond this material and I have also read here that it will not bond. Any comments or experience? What is expected cure time for 5200? I was experimenting with an older tube of this and it seemed to be very slow curing. I am not sure of the chemical makeup of 5200. Is it a moisture cure isocyanate or some other chemistry?
No, 5200 won’t bond to starboard, that’s one of the few things that it won’t stick to. There are really no glues that work with starboard.
Regular 5200 has a 7 day cure time. They also have a fast cure that’s 24 hours.

I use JB Weld epoxy to bond plastic components like starboard. Wal Mart sells a handy syringe 2 part deal for around $4. I would drill a few pocket holes in the back of the starboard for epoxy to embed in and scuff up the fiberglass or other HDPE component you are adhering too.
