Leaving Ulmer, headed to Dawhoo to fish the North Edisto and will report this evening. George Smith, aka The Swamp Rat and Paul Brant of Ulmer are with me. Roughly 8 AM low and not a big differential. You never know, but we’ll be throwing topwater, suspending jerk baits, Gulp 3 inch shrimp, and TroutTricks.
I left em biting, good luck! Even though I know you don’t really need it.

tigerfin, Thanks, turns out we could have used something. Started around Toogoodoo, dingy, 12 inches visibility. Ran both sides to Bohicket, fished 6 drops, same thing. Wind picked up, wasn’t forecast. Finally, close to the top of the tide, fished last drop, near Toogoodoo, maybe got to 14 inches vis, for an hour for 3 trout. 19, 16, 14 1/2… Feel the far inland runoff from the major rains, earlier in the week, resulted in the lack of water clarity. Did have a blast. First time I’ve saltwater fished in several months. Now George and I are mad at them! Bob

Bob I was thinking about ya today. We really struggled in chas and the water was very dingy which was a big surprise considering the weak tide. Glad you were able to get out

Bob we had a great week fishing flats for reds on the low end of the tide and the deep water banks for trout at high tide. All fish were on live or cut bait though. I did try the trout tricks, but I haven’t got them mastered yet. I know the trout where there, because they were biting mud minnows.
I have to give all the credit to Raddaddy though, because he really put us on the fish at the beginning of the week.

Talked with Raddaddy, who went offshore today, and he hated hearing the water had dingied (not a word) up. David, if you didn’t catch’em…My wife just asked me where I had gone (we’re watching Doc Martin) and I realized I’d been trying to figure out what I should have done different and not focused on the show. Might have been more a water salinity issue, coupled with the visibility. Trying to figure them out did make for the 6 1/2 hours we fished flying by. After we put the boat on the trailer, we dropped Fran’s, www.doggrell.com, auction item by the Bookstore for the Edisto Open Land Trust Auction and headed back to Ulmer. I just finished a Trout filet sandwich, mayo, chili sauce, lettuce, Vidalia onion on toasted 15 Grain bread…Awesome.
Op, let’s fish together soon. Bob
