Wingnut be sure to watch the tide. The ramp inlet gets very slack,I have been at the ramp with barely 24" of water. Mud minnows finger mullet even peanut menhaddan. They are out there. This time of year you can find some decent bait size shrimp ,I have watched the flounder going after them.Best of luck.I will be out there next week after the weekend and Labor day warriors have had their fill.
This hasn’t been a good year for us at Bushy…only caught a couple of flounder and a few reds. We usually tear up the flounder on Gulp natural shrimp and Gulp swimming mullet but haven’t had very good luck even when using live menhaden and mud minnows. We are going to throw everything at them tomorrow though. Good luck…see you there somewhere…we are going to try every place we know.

I know most people don’t share their spots, but if you put in at bushy and head north, you don’t have to go far to find a productive creek. About 2 (trying to remember) river bends after Bushy, there is a creek on the right. It has a range marker just inside the creek on the left bank. Fish the bank with the range marker, and work into the creek. It will branch off after a few hundred yards. Take the left branch, and continue to fish the left creek bank right against the grass near the eddies. We have never left their without 4-5 keeper flounder. I have caught them on MM w/ cork and Gulps on a jig head w/ no cork. Good luck.

We tried several creeks up there this weekend and only managed to get one small red that was released. We also caught 3 nice catfish on gulp too and released them. Unfortunately, the tide was not really right this past weekend and we were fishing the rising tide instead of the falling tide. That seems to really make a difference up there for some reason…never have done much of anything on a rising tide but have caught several limits of reds on the falling tide.
