Heading to Grillage in the morning

Gonna try there, Castle Pinckney and possibly the jetties, depending on conditions. Also, maybe a few farther inshore spots on the way down and back.

Leaving out of Cypress Gardens landing around 7am.

Taking large shrimp and blue crabs for bait and hope to catch some live mullet and/or menhaden when I get down there.

Any last minutes tips or words of advice?

When you see “Old Glory” waving in the breeze, know that it is the dying breaths of our fallen hero’s that makes it wave.

Fished both spots today, only caught Whiting on the smaller rigs. One nice Weakfish inshore. No big bites.

THE Grillage huh, you might want to get a guide, can anybody suggest one for him?

Don’t listen to him^ haha you don’t need a guide to fish grillage or jetties for reds bull red fishing is easy any dummy can throw in a mullet and a Carolina rig and catch a big red at the jetties

Hmmmm…we must be realy realy smart then, :stuck_out_tongue: we chunked at least 10lbs. of bait with 4-5 lines out…not one Red Drum bite at either spot.

Where is this Grillage place you guys are talking about?

You know that place between sleep and awake, that place where you still remember dreaming? That’s where the Grillage is. That’s where all the Bull Red Drum are waiting. Waiting for you to present your offering of Mullet chunks and Crab halves. Waiting for no less than 30, white center consoles to circle around the big buoy. Can you see it now? Can you here those giant Spot Tails calling?

Easy;
Don’t know the numbers for exact , Grillage is on N side as you enter harbor from sea, just off beach . Note depth , it drops off sharply into harbor and has lots ““structure”” to lose anchors to!!!Carry a spare and rig anchors to break away from chain. Cracker Larry has posted several times on how to rig them if you can find his old posts.:smiley:

Found these #'s from another post, can’t attest to how close they are.
