New guy to this august forum, temporarily living here with the girlfriend until I find out where my next job/project is. Eventually hope to build my pine box house either here or on my lot in the Perdido Key (Pensacola) area of the Panhandle. Familiar with the Carolina coast since my grandmom had a place on Pawley’s (and was visited by the Gray Man - before Betsy I believe it was - but that’s a story for after several dark whiskeys…). Sorry, I digressed - while I am here I want to take advantage of the surrounds and learn some stuff. I want to learn to catch sheepies and flounder. I want to get GOOD at it. Note: I’m not THAT GUY who is a competitive fisherman it’s because there is another generation coming up now and since I have a boat (Polar 17 Saltwater Series Skiff) it looks like it will fall to me to instill a love of the outdoors in ‘em. Grew up in Louisiana – headed to Delacroix this weekend - which is where I usually go for specks and reds although I understand the fishing here for those is good as well . SO - who are the best guides for sheepies and flounder in this area? Any recs – it would be just me. I want to do a full day trip for each and seriously pick some gray matter. Fire away and tia for the advice. P.S., if I wind up here we’ll have to break out the jambalaya and gumbo pots and have a forum cookout somewhere.
Knot at work Charters/Captain Robert Olsen is good. Quite a few other great inshore guides around as well. I’m mostly an offshore service. Sure you will get some other recommendations to consider from others on here. And the forum does an annual dinner too. Gumbo would be a great addition to the oyster roast.

What area are you staying in ???
Stop by either Haddrell’s Point Tackle location, I work full time at the Charleston location.
We can help you get rigged up to fish, point you towards some areas that should be productive and we can also recommend a few guides to look at.
Give me a shout if you have any questions.

Just a few I know catch fish
Capt Fritz on here, good guy - 22 or 24 pathfinder
Jeff yates, always a crowdpleaser - 22 or 24 pathfinder
Garrett Lacy - Younger but ive done some fishing with him (not charters) and we absolutely put a smackdown on some fish - 18’? New Maverick
Havent fished with Fritz or yates personally but the company I work with puts on a tournament every year and i specifically hear the guys they take bragging about them.
Look at where Jesus went to pick people. He didn’t go to the colleges; he got guys off the fishing docks.
