Hey all, my name is Cyrus been in SC for about 3 months now moved here from the gulf of mexico, clearwater beach FL. Did some fishing today but not much I hit the boat ramp on 26, at ashley river at midnight to net some bait and just throw some bobbers out and hope for the best, not any luck really, I don’t really know of some hot spots here in the charleston area but just kinda making my way around hitting all the what i feel like productive areas, gonna hit the point at folly beach sometime this weekend and see if I can get some action.
I sold my native and my hobie kayak and also my 18ft carolina skiff when I moved up here so I fish primarily from land.
If anyone wants to get together sometime and show me some of your honey holes i would greatly appreciate it
Welvcome to the site, though this isn’t much of a report…try posting in the discussion or fishing match up section. Good luck

You should try your luck on the Folly Pier or the new Mt Pleasant Pier under the bridge. Good fishing this time of year.
Welcome to the site.

Should have kept your yak. This place is great for kayaks. Went out last week with a buddy and we destroyed the reds and trout.
I personally don’t fish from the piers that charge, although they are nice. I prefer the one at Pitt Street in Mt Pleasant, and also fishing at Breech Inlet. Breech can be a GREAT place to fish as long as you don’t do the typical “cast a rod, sit and wait” all the time. Sometimes that works but I’ve found that you have to hunt for the fish there as the tide changes stage.

Definitely get yourself a kayak. Plenty of awesome places to launch a yak around Charleston. Good luck!
All fishermen are liers except me and you and I’m not sure about you.
