Jerms Nice work! You up in NC or local? Thrown double or single fly? Type of pattern?

I had a blast and can’t wait till the next trip. I hate I did not take more pics as well, but when the fishing is good you need to have your priorities straight…

I need to get out there soon.

Heading to Harkers tomorrow for what I hope is 10 days of pure insanity.

How far off shore are ya’ll fishing. Could you do it in a 17 ft center console G3 alluminim jon if conditions were good?

call me an idiot but what kind of fish are these… they are absolutely beautiful

i dont want to sound like an idiot but i was 15 years old and in mexico i could swear what i caught looked just like that and it was called a bonita

That’s a false albacore. Bonita or bonito are very similar. They run like crazy off the coast of Cape Lookout NC from mid Oct through the later portions of November. They have been catching fish up to 20 pounds the last week, though that’s a really big one i believe

I changed my mind, screw the lack of funds, heading there for a weekend to fish it from the hook in my kayak

Got back from Cape Lookout last night. Spent Friday night fishing around the lighthouse where a friend and I camped. Saturday hit the jetty from shore and then the bight. Nada. Several boats came by looking for albies and non to be found- no bait! Talked to a guy also wade fishing on the bight and he said we were out there with perfect conditions - low tide about to come in, north wind, clear water on the edge of the bight. Only problem is they haven’t seen any cores over the past week. From there we made a few casts around the old coast guard dock and pulled out a small flounder and lizardfish. Sunday woke up to 20-25 knot winds. Said screw it and paddled across the inlet to Shackleford Banks. Fished for 3-4 hours and finally got into some specks. Caught 11 in 45 minutes before had to paddle back to camp before getting picked up by the ferry and heading home. No albies but apparently there are tons of specks and reds willing to eat

hey Jerms, would you bring me a few back next time? That piece right there makes killer strip baits for sailfish.

glad you guys had a great trip and got into them thick!
