hello

Hiya, Just wanted to say hello. I have been trolling on these boards for a few weeks finally decided to post. I live in Bonneau and fish lake moultrie. Started trolling for stripers last week using some 25’s. So far have only caught 3 shorts in 3 trips out.

When lynn starts posting reports thats when its time to go…lol…he seems to never fail to impress this time of year down that way.

I think lynn starts after thanksgiving trolling around the dam. He always seems to do good when the weather is at its worst.

I’m going to go out tonight See if I have any luck. Can’t catch em from the couch

Ha ha…

It is true that I have caught a lot of striper during a LWA. The time is near, but I would guess that it will be another week or so. Usually around the time of the fair. Water temp is getting close. It is at 70 right now, I like it a little lower.

I like a NW wind kicking up across the lake, but I have also had decent nights when it was calm. I don’t fish for the striper during the day. I have in the past, though, with some luck, but my bigger ones have came at night after they stop pulling water. I like the cold and nasty nights, no competition…:roll_eyes:

Last year, I caught my biggest striper on the night before halloween. It was roughly 38" long and weighed around 26 lbs. It was a good one for the present state of the lake.

That’s right!! You never know unless you go. It seems that the striper always act a little different from year to year, and night to night…

Please keep us posted, and I will do the same when I go…

cold and nasty…I grew up in Maine I know all about cold and nasty fishing. Except there your standing on the lake rather than fishing in your boat

Welcome Eezidoesit, I’m also originally from maine
Litchfield, its between gardner and lewiston. Would be fishing thru the ice pretty soon up there. Or hunting in more clothes than you can walk in. I don’t miss that but haven’t yet got used to hunting in a mosguito net and t-shirt yet either. The fishing on Marion and moultrie is great and i love that there is something biting every month of the yr. Good luck
where do you hail from in the great white north?
