I have a kayak and have been fishing penny creek in johns island and the areas around, as well as the area under main and river bridge. Haven’t caught a fish in 2 month!! Recently cold started and I’ve been skunked. Been using a variety of Jig heads… Grubbs… Paddle tail… Vudu shrimp… even Live mudminnows on a Carolina rig. Is my spot terrible?! If so please give me a place where I can put in with my kayak and not have to paddle too far to find some freaking fish!! #128540;
I see you read thread count is growing with no answers…I don’t have an answer either, but I assume you are fishing under docks? Have you tried shrimp (dead or alive)?

I am one of the last folks here to give you any advice (Shut Up Peapod) but, one thing I learned from a guy here on CF is this. When fishing artificials in the winter, you must slow your retrieve down. If you think you are going slow, you are probably not going slow enough. The cold water slows the fish down so a fast retrieve will not get you a fish. I am sure someone will come along with more help but start with this.
