Help. I need a tutor

New to fishing these black water tidal rivers. Have a new boat but no luck. Swamp Donkey gave me some advice and yesterday afternoon on the falling tide I fished the Wacca Wachie marina.Used a white spinner bait, and a Rapala shad rap. Not a hit! Then I tried jigging the pilings with a small twister tail and jig head for crappie with my ultra lite and only caught what I would call a sunny but I guess was a bream.
This Yankee needs some counsel.
Anyone have suggestions or time to take me out?
I have caught a few fish in the inlets but nothing on the rivers.

Then I went home and backing the boat into the garage ran over my bicycle. Better days are coming!

It would be well worth the money to hire a local guide, especially one that will do a tutorial to help show you the way. When we really started fishing saltwater around 10 years ago, we used Captain Tommy. Not sure if he still does it, but he did a tutorial for us back then. Showed us what to look for at different tide stages, baits, rigs, etc. He also put us on fish that day.

There are lots of guides in your area that are top notch. Had the opportunity to fish with a couple and talked with several. All are very good guys.

Also, get a good fishing map. Top Spot, The Good Spot, etc. Try the places marked on the maps. They don’t always produce, but will give you an idea of what to look for in an area.

I hope that helps.

Until then I wish you the best of luck, and don’t be afraid to keep asking questions it only takes one good answer to make it all worth the effort. Hope you and your family have happy and safe holidays. please feel free to call anytime and I will do my best to try and help. Thanks Tony!
