Can any one help me make sense of connecting a SH 1200 to a Garmin 541. Thought i had the wires right but the unita wont talk to each other. Would like to know what wire goes where. Eta i have google overload and to many bud lights to make any sense of this. I wish SH would follow Nmea 2000.

Check the setting on your Garmin. I had a he** of a time getting a new Lorance Gen 2 talking to my VHF. Tried everything. Was getting ready to send it to the factory! tried every wire combination there was 5-6 times. Finally found a sub-setting in the Lorance menue that allowed me to select 0183 or 2000.[:I][:I] Switched it to 0183 from the default setting and it instantly came up and started talking. Talk about feeling stupid. Sometimes, you just have to read the manuel:face_with_head_bandage:
Without going out to the boat and looking, I think to NMEA was in the COMM menue:question: !Your VHF, has to be set to the 0183 setting also
