It’s not talking crap if you can back it up…and nothing can back it up better than facts.

No openings for security?

I know you get this as a joke.

“No… it’s okay, I know the way out…”

Wish I was ready to retire. I’d move down and apply for a job. My desire is to retire and then do something else, totally not related to my current occupation. Had any takers yet?

I have applied to multiple positions in that company through the corporate portal and never got even a sniff of a reply. I am talking entry level stuff too, like GED or equivalent. Maybe have a chat with your HR screeners, I see many of the jobs have been open for a long time.

I have no doubt they receive tons of applications but it is frustrating to not get any kind of ■■■■■■■■/response whatsoever.

Whenever you send a resume to or apply through a large corporate website, you almost never get anything more than a "thank you for submitting your application" message back. Almost all large corporations use algorithms to search for keywords to kick the application to a living person to inspect. If you apply for a job where customer service is job description and don't have any experience in customer service and note that on the application or resume, your application won't get a "hit". Also, many algorithms don't recognize numerical values that are spelled out...like "eight" instead of "8". Always use the actual numbers when you are listing years of experience in a particular field.

I nderstand why they don’t. I’m just saying it’s frustrating.

Solid advice on using actual numbers versus spelling it ot.

Submitting an application with Shimano is a waste of time! So is stopping by the plant and asking about applying. Go to Lowes, or anywhere else, where at least they’ll accept your app and hire you…

I wouldn’t call it a “waste of time.” I believe Shimano, being who they are in the fishing and cycling industries, are VERY selective about who they bring onboard, as they should be. Plus, I’d also imagine there are employees applying for these positions from within as well so they already have a toe in the door, so to speak. The way I see it is if Shimano is where you want to work and a certain position is the one you want, you do what you have to do to get hired. One thing is for sure, you’ll never get the job/position if you don’t apply.
