I have a 2003 Yamaha 70 TLRB and need to replace the stator assembly (tilt/trim motor). I really do not want to spend $300+ on an OEM motor and have found multiple places that sell aftermarket motors for just about every outboard. My problem is, I cannot seem to locate an aftermarket one that matches the Yamaha part # I was given. This is a very common motor, does anyone know of an aftermarket motor that will fit this motor? Am I using the wrong part#? (6H1-43804-10-00)
Thanks
I called ARCO directly when I did mine.
I think you can find them via Google.
…if ARCO is acceptable to you. I’ve been happy with my purchase from them.

Thanks, Ill look them up. The problem I am having is that every diagram I find online of teh tilt/trim assembly shows the tilt/trim motor as a Stator Assy, part # 6H1-43804-10-00. I thought the Stator assy was inside the cowling. If the diagram is mislabeled, I feel pretty sure the part # listed is incorrect. Every place I call needs a part #.
Thanks, I’ll keep working at it.
boats.net has the diagrams of the motors and you can pick your part from it and get the number right there…you may already know that but i wanted to tell ya anyway
“Fish On”
I saw that one but, the diagram on boats.net of the 2003 70TLRB Yamaha Outboard POWER TRIM TILT ASSY shows part 4 as a Stator assy. Unless I am mistaken, part 4 is the tilt/trim motor but, the part # given does not cross reference with anything I can find.
Sorry - just re-read…
the stator can be either part of an alternator to turn rotational force with a magnet into electricity, or (in reverse)a part of an electric motor to turn electricity into rotational force via electromagnetic repulsion. It looks like a bunch of copper wire wound around a bunch of other stuff.
The stator of the trim/tilt motor is likely an integral part of the little trim motor and probably cant be replaced separately. You might ought to look for a whole trim motor to replace it with-

That is actually what I am trying to do. The cover or outside part of the trim motor is badly rusted and it is only a matter of time before it rusts through and ceases to work. Going on a trip in a few weeks and want to fix it before I go to avoid problems down the road.
Try 6H1-43880-02-00 for the whole motor assembly instead of 6H1-43804-10-00 for just the stator/cap part

comes up when you google the 1st one. hope this helps!
I think that is it and it is a good bit cheaper than the Yamaha one. Thanks all that replied!
