Google baby stink bugs. I’d bet $5.00 those are baby stink bugs. The assasins have a wider abdomen. And the prominent jabby front piece between their two antennas. Ever been bitten by one? Hurts like crazy and left an nasty spot on my finger for a couple of weeks.

I think they’re juvenile assassins, but I’ve been wrong before. Yes, I have been stuck a few times.

Me too!

Hard to tell from your pic, but I think Leaf Footed Nymph. Had them last year. I sprayed the heck out of them with Safer Soap. Took a lot, I may have just drowned them!
A key for id - they tend to be in clusters. From this page: http://www.idigmygarden.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33295.
"Sometimes, I am not sure if an Assassin bug nymph on the Fennel is really an Assassin or Leaf footed bug. I have researched google images and compared images of both. Here are a few observations.

  1. The Leaf footed nymphs tend to stay in clusters. A lone orange colored nymph is usually an Assassin bug.

  2. The Assassin nymphs have small white spots on their body. The Leaf footed nymphs do not.

  3. The Assassin nymphs are beginning to develop wings that can be seen. The Leaf footed nymphs wings are less obvious."

After looking at the pic, $50.00 says they are juvi leaf footed bugs. They will tear the snot out of tomato plants.

The past day or two Comcast had an infomercial on natural insect and larger animal remedies. 2 books for $20. Might want to check the programing schedule. Good info.
