if they are bright red with black antenna, probably baby stink bugs. google baby stink bug pics.

What Capnsandbar said or some 10% seven dust.

Yep, baby stink bugs. They ate almost all the flowers on my cucumber plants omw couple days.

Dust your plants with Sevin dust. Or any king of garden dust for insects. A light dusting will keep off most insects.

Any suggestions for something organic. I’m in the same boat as hoofarted, kids pick stuff straight off the vine when I’m not looking.

If it is assassin bugs don’t fret, they eat the critters eating your plants…

oafm,

there are several organic concoctions such as mixing ground up peppers, or soap, or vinegar you can use. Just search out “organic garden repellents” and you will get a plethera of sites with different recipes.

Passoms off 17 has an organic insecticide that I use for my house. You can use it for bug spray inside and out, spray straight on the dogs at 1-2oz per gl., and works on garden insects it says. Havent tried that yet, however it is made up of nothing but peppermint and rosemary oils and the only word that I cant pronounce is actually an imulsifier that allows you to mix the oils with water. Doesn’t get more natural…its call Essentria IC3

sorry, that’s Possums…I think

They are definitely baby stink bugs. I tried the soap and water, I think it just made them smell better. I will run by possums today. thanks for all the info guys!

The thing with any pesticide is that you must get under the leaves as well as on top.

Neem oil. It’s an organic pesticide and fungicide. Don’t use it during the heat of the day, because it can burn the leaves. Spray it on when the sun gets low in the evening.

Assassin bugs are orange and awesome. I usually have a ton of them by now, but they haven’t shown up in numbers yet. They kill all sorts of bad pests for you.

Those are assassin bugs. They are eating whatever is eating your plants.

That’s a squash bug nymph AKA leaf footed bug nymph AKA baby stank bug. They will tear your stuff up

will not help you much now, but regular spraying with 7-spray before flowering will help alot.

Forget about spraying the tops of the foliage as the ultraviolet rays will destroy any product. You have to get to the bottom side as insects figured that out a long time ago. They lay there eggs on the bottom side and will hatch about every 7 days so you have to keep up your application regularly.
