Its a 12ft skiff I am thinking about selling but the title does not specify model. All I know is that it is a hells bay, every bit of 12 ft. And white.
Any help with an ID from the microskiff crowd is greatly appreciated.
whats the hull id

I’m almost certain it is the HB Skate. 2003 model year. Nice little boat.

I saw that model too (googled hells bay 12 ft) - isnt the same hull. Skate came out in 2010 and has no deadrise.
Hull ID / HIN is indeed hells bay and indeed 2003. Call them up and they can prolly tell ya!
One thing I found when searching though - pre-06/07 back when they were run by Bryan Broderick who was not the same guy as the ones cranking out 40k flats boats now.
Yeah, probably go for a touch less than 40k!
Thanks to all!

I am 99.9% sure that is not any model of hells bay. I think someone slapped those stickers on the side as a joke.
But I have been wrong before…
I considered that possibility too, but the hull ID shows it to be a HB. The easy answer would be to call Hells Bay and ask them.

That was my thought. Looks nothing like any Hells Bay I’ve ever seen before in shape or in the level of finish on the inside. Or that carpeted poling platform. Hull ID says otherwise though, that is if it’s a legit Hull ID. Could’ve been a one off custom skiff I reckon.
Called hells bay, spoke with Mona. She looked up hull ID and it is a 2003 hells bay plankton.
A prototype skiff. Seemed interested in how I acquired the boat. Took my # for call from C. Peterson.
Thank you all for your help

very cool! Thanks for letting us know- if Peterson wants it back it might end up a 40k boat after all
No need to speculate when you can solve it with a phone call.

For those who may be interested. I received a call from Chris Peterson at hells bay boats. He told me that there has been between 3 to 5 hells bay planktons made. They were made as gifts to friends of the companies previous owners. Friends with very large boats towed these skiffs or set them on deck and then had the option of skinny water fishing.
Sadly Mr. Peterson had a plankton in the back and did not need mine.
Bringing boat to Charleston next week. Will be available on Craigslist for anyone interested. Not many bonefish or reds in Tennessee.
Thanks again.
