Can anyone tell me about the boat landing at Hendricks Park on Virginia Ave.? How big a boat will it accommodate? Is it suitable only for jon boats, kayaks and canoes?

Small boats
Very low water at dead low and there are oysters. I wouldn’t hessitate to put my 16 fiberglass boat in there, but anything bigger and I’d be going on a mid to high tide.
I wouldn’t leave my car there at night either, some sketchy people hang out after dark.
Biggest boat I have taken through there is a 19’ Carolina skiff. Wouldn’t go bigger or a much deeper draft. I have used the landing several times, and also at night gigging. It can be sketchy but I never leave anything in the truck worth stealing. In fact, my locks don’t work. But…If your stuff is nice, lock it down.
I like to use the ramp and is not bad if you are able bodied. The main attraction for me is no crowd.
On the way out from the landing there are big sand bars. One just past the bridge on the right, and one back on the left at the turn.
Some decent fishing spots not too far away.

Shhhhhh!!
I have fished the area, just did not put in there. Hence my inquiring about the landing. May try out a kayak from there.

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”>What? All you have to do is leave the creek, take a left go about 3 miles upstream to the north end of Clouter, take a right, go south down Clouter until you get to Beresfort/Nowell Creek. Take a left there, follow it all the way to Wando (watch out for the low bridge and sandbars at low tide), take a right on the Wando and go past Ralston and Hobcaw Creeks, under the Cooper Bridge towards the jetties and look for all of the boats stacked up on the secrete spots known as Dynamite Hole or the Grillage. That’s not too far away.
Sweet, thanks for the shortcut. I had been putting in at Buck Hall, going out Bulls Bay and coming down the coast.

carefuls with mid to high tide though because that tressel shrinks with every inch, i used to put in my 17ft key west in there no problem just gotta watch th mud flats and sandbars getting out. once you get in the cooper you can see a distinct line in the water where its shallow
