Herbert H Jenson Ladson Road Boat Landing

I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the river up there like if it is worth fishing, or if its full of trees, tides any tips would be appreciated.

I run a 19 Carolina skiff, commercially cat fishing up there. Lots of trees, strong current and not a lot of depth at low tide.fishing is great from just below Kings grant landing down to the plantations

I live and keep my boat upstream from the ramp - 19’CC, not a shallow draft boat… plenty of trees and stumps around and most are visible at low tide - high tide there is plenty of water everywhere, but the stumps and downed trees are hidden. I can easily navigate the river 2 hours on either side of low tide.

Downstream of the ramp has less stumps, but more sandbars. Some of the sandbars are 2’-3’ exposed at dead low, and you will hit them at 1/2 tide, some remain underwater at low tide. The water is stained, so the sandbars are not always evident.

In this area, the river has 7’+/- of tide change and most of it happens in a 4 hour period, water can drop 2’ in an hour at peak flow - so be careful in creeks or in the shallows.

Thank you both for the information it is very helpful. As a side note I fished there with no luck but we just got a lot of rain, the tide was going out, and the plant was releasing water so the water was really dirty most of the area I fished.
