Herring in Moultrie

I’m about tired of getting skunked in the salt water…looking to try my luck at some stripers this weekend. I’ve done a little research and from what I’ve read it seems herring is probably the best bait to use. I have a decent cast net but no idea where to throw it. Does anyone have any advice on the best way to get some?

Bait usally isn't a problem as long as your at the Dam{locks}. Just bring alot of rope on your net, avg. depth is 40ft. Personally I like a zubiki rig. Less work and in just acouple casts you have JUST ENOUGH bait to dangle. Works for shad/herring. But then again, why use live bait when their hittin' "stretch 25's?

any fishing reports from down at the dam…are the stripers still there???

I know it’s cold…but don’t stop fishing…

Went out last night and got skunked. Trolled stretch25s between short stay and the dam for a few hours. Most of the trolling was around 3mph but my boat wouldn’t go any slower. saw plenty of bait close to the dam but didn’t have a way to collect any so just used the artificials. It was cold but didn’t rain on us. packed it up by 11:30.
