Hey CRM

Man, there sure are a ton of Gamecock fans worried about Clemson’s QB’s knee. I wonder how many of those same fans would admit that they were hoping some big ole LB would pretzel that thing and send in Stoudt.

Personally, you guys have enough to worry about on your own side that I wouldn’t waste any time focusing on Clemson.

I can see playing Watson for the USC game as long as he was mobile, which he obviously was. But I don’t see any benefit in playing him in the bowl game. I think recruits would actually appreciate it more if Clemson benched him and got blown out in their bowl game. Let the kids go have fun, get their swag, but don’t waste recovery time when he can go ahead and get the surgery and start rehab earlier.

We can all sit her and be arm chair coach, with 20/20 hindsight, but the fact of the matter is lots of skill players, and leaders on sports teams go out and play when they are not 100%. I am not going to criticize any coach for doing so, as I know it ultimately lies in the player and his parents decision as to whether or not he wants to play. Watson played 3 weeks after breaking his finger, that takes heart, he obviously had heart for the game to go out with his knee injury and play.

This kid is going to be a great role model for the sport, and a sight to watch for many years.

He will be great. I just saw how bad he was limping after a few plays. Clemson had the game in hand and he was still on the field. I just don't see where the risk for reward was equal. For an Hall Of Fame NFL running back to call out your University means something happened that should not have happened. I do not want to see anyone get injured. It is a game played by teenagers and young men. It's all abo

Why would I put anymore value on Emmitt Smith’s opinion on the matter than I would anyone else? He is not a doctor and not privy to all of the discussions between the doctor, Watson , and Dabo. Dabo has not shown that he puts winning above all at any time during his coaching stay so far , so I will continue to believe he would not of done anything that would have threatened Watson’s career. I am sure there was a risk, but how large or small, no one knows but those close to the situation and they obviously made the call that the risk was small enough to take for the Carolina game. I doubt it will be the same for bowl game. I am sure that Watson had most of the say on whether he would play or not.

I learned a long time ago not to let some 19 year old kid ruin my weekend. I do love pulling for the Gamecocks and always will, but it won’t bother me if my team loses. I’ve been around for a little bit, and while 500 isn’t the season I was hoping for, it could have been worse.

I look at Watson as just another outstanding young athlete. I see the destruction of the body that Lattimore endured and

This sounds like big government getting involved in personal lives. I think Desean Watson should be able to decide whether DEsean Watson wants to play. If he tears his knee up, then it’s on him. Why are opposing fans worried about the well being of the kid? Never heard anything quite like it. I guess that’s what happens when you hang your program’s tradition on a 5 game winning streak and a tackle for loss on a 165 lb running back.

A running back in a knee brace or coming back from knee surgery and a QB is two entirely different things. A QB doesn’t have to cut and rely on his knees to be 100%. Heck most of the QB’s in the NFL are playing at the top level with bum knees.

And Emmitt should button it up, it was sure good enough for his Cowboys to ride on Aikman while he was in a brace and in/out of knee injuries.

I’ll take Dabo playing a QB with bum knees over Spurrier running Lattimore into the ground any day.

Like has been said. None of us know the circumstances around this kid and his injuries, but we all sure want to speculate and drum up anything we can. I love CRM’s “shredded” knee, hype much? Sure you aren’t a female with that drama?

Lick your wounds, and move on, don’t try and grasp at straws to tarnish Clemson’s victory.

My knee grinds and pops these days. I’m going to have to sit out the rest of deer season. Do you orthopedists on here think that’s wise, maybe just go ahead and get a wheelchair in case one day it’s possible I’ll need it.

Do you think the Chickens will play in the blue field bowl?

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Shevlin, are you saying if the docs clear him, and the coaching staff agrees, and Watson wants to play, he should be held out anyway because it might set his healing back a month?

No. They are smarter than me. Don’t know if that’s the case they’re very tightlipped
