Fished out in the deep looking for the big bite. We were making a practice run tuning up for the Hilton. Found the bite in 650’. Dougs 15 yr old daughter Kelly is our lady angler, so she was the designated angler on this trip. Looking to give her all the practice she could handle. She got it when a huge bull inhales the mousetrap! 37 mins. later the fish is in the cockpit! Fish weight calculation put the fish in the mid 70’s. Official weight at Haddrells was 71.25 lbs. I believe she may have the Dolphin catagory locked up in the Trident. Ended up the day with 9 big dolphin and Sail. Never got the Marlin bite we were looking for, but the big bull made the day. I will try to post the pics as soon as I get them.
Monty, glad to hear that you are till out their hunting them down. Have you got a new ride yet? Grady I thought you were moving to the Island did you move? Good luck to all!
It is good luck to have a lady angler on the boat!

That is the truth.
Ladies also do a better job at listening. I can’t tell you how many new guys I’ve seen lose fish by trying to reel them in “their” way, where as a lady will listen to instructions and want to learn the technique first time out.
I’ll take an lady angler with technique over a meathead dude any day.
Monty,
Congrats to you, Kelly, Doug, and Scott on a great fish! Did you have any flashbacks of the big bull lost on High Current during the Megadock? Kelly is a great angler and she certainly deserves that fish.
Chad
What happened to you Thurs? Doug asked me if I thought the fish last year was as big, I told him it wasn’t smaller. Either way both fish would have cashed!!!
