I am looking to get a smaller boat in addition to my bay boat and was looking at a high tide. It will be used in the midlands rivers and the backwaters at the coast. Does anyone on here have any experience with them? I’m specifically looking at used 1503 Super Vs and it will definitely be a 20" transom

Used to have one, what are you looking to know?
Should be a good fit for your intended purpose.
About how shlallow will they draft? Was yours a tiller or console steer?

Had a tiller 50 with a manual jack plate. Do not get a console as it is a waste of room in the boat.
Never really measured draft but can’t remember any issues with it. Used mine for hunting and fishing in the same areas you are talking about and thought it was a good match.
Can’t be beat. I bet more SC backwaters have been explored with a 15’ hi tide than any other boat.

I planned to run a tiller so good to hear that’s the way to go. Sounds like the boat will well suit my needs well then. Did you like your manual plate? I’m considering a hydraulic so I can adjust on the fly

Manual plate helped dial the motor height in, I personally think a hydraulic one is overkill on this boat.
No need for hydraulic. Heck, I don’t think I ever even used the tilt/trim on mine much once the height got dialed in. Weight distribution in the boat made more of a difference than any motor adjustments while underway for me.

Good to know. Thanks for the first hand advice! Saves some money too going manual over hydraulic
