Had a nice time on the Hill with Gary, Wayne Condry, and Dano on Friday. We caught plenty; however, we only had 4 21 inches or over. The biggest was 8-9 pounds, but we were overwhelmed by small fish. We fished structure and open water 40-100+ feet deep from Horseshoe Island to the dam and couldn’t get away from squealers. I don’t know what the deal is over there, but last year this time we were routinely catching 10-20 pounders. Oh well! The fellowship still made it a fun outing.
I felt a little better when a friend and great MSC angler called me and said that he only caught 10 keepers in 5 days of camping and fishing last week. Who knows? The fun is in the pursuit.
