I’m headed down to HHI after graduation from USC this weekend for a little celebratory fishing and much needed relaxation with the parents. Never really fished the area, does anyone have any pointers on where to head, good landings, etc.? I have an 18’ g3 cc. Thanks in advance fellas

Nice lading at the end of sawmill road. Get some minnows from a local shop and fish creeks in the area.

Live bait can be purchased at Bluffton Marine & Sport Supply and at Southern Drawl Outfitters, also in Bluffton. Trout are biting on artificials, especially trout tricks fished on trout eye jig heads. Flounder and reds also can’t resist the trout trick, so you should be able to catch some quality fish. You could also go the dead shrimp/squid route and get some whiting and who knows what else. Lizard fish and toadfish for example.

Sawmill Creek landing, aka Trask landing is probably your best bet. Not a lot of traffic there compared against other landings. Very good fishing near there but study the charts; lots of places to run aground as well. Be sure to lock your trailer onto your vehicle. They will steal anything that isn’t on fire.

Thanks for the advice fellas! Hope to be posting up a report and some pictures soon. With finishing up school and all I haven’t gotten much time to fish lately. It’s gonna be nice to have all that behind me and just focus on the water for a couple days! And maybe throw my feet up with a beer on the beach for a bit too
