Hilton head reefs

Was wondering if anyone could help me out. Are the reefs list out around the Hilton head island 10-20 miles produce any good fishing we are heading down the week of the 4th and would like to do some bottom fishing. We normaly run out of charleston to the ledge but really don’t wanna go that far and help will be appreciated I’m not asking for numbers for some help thanks

Everyone will be at the Betsy Ross, about 20 miles out in an underwater valley kind of. Good stuff, but bring you patience, and maybe a screen door so you can be friendly with the neighbors.

Ill be there the 6th to the 9th and was thinking about heading offshore out there as well to check it out. Is that wreak on the maps unique?

The two nicest flounder I ever caught came off the Ross.

Looking at the bft/hh section appears the cobia are still hanging around in numbers. King macs yes but things like wahoo, mahi, sailfish etc. more than likely not, although it wouldn’t be the first and probably wont be the last time that’s happened. Lots of bsb, I am sure there are some stud sheephead but its probably too deep to really ‘target’ them although we have caught quite a few out there over the years.

Looks like a good report of Spadefish much closer in than the Ross as well (you will want to work on your jelly ball/honeydew skills for thems).

Reefs are definitely listed on DNR website but you should also check out Beaufort Sportfishing Club web page for a more detailed layout of the Ross and other reefs closer in. There is also good bottom marked on Maps Unique in the area and that could be a great option considering the crowd that will gather at the Ross.

You should most certainly head out and and wet a line as there are multiple options for yall. If weather falls apart you should consider cashing some poons in Port Royal, lots of good sightings this past week.

How did you catch flounder in 90 feet without bsbs tearing you up.

Thanks Yall for the help we’ll be heading down in the morning from spartanburg I have a maps unique chart for out of charleston but not Hilton head thanks again for the help hope to see Yall out there

Race Ready Fishing

The Ross has been fished hard for the last 60 days. Still plenty of Cobia but the good quality bottom fish were depleted weeks ago. Might need to push out further to get some good bottom dwellers.

The Ross being fished hard is an understatement even though thats really the only way to say it- never fished so close to soo many boats in my life

North Hole, you can find it on Maps Unique.

Pure luck, light tackle (I was told I was bringing a knife to a gun fight) and fresh shrimp, drooper looper rig, and like I said pure luck. We couldn’t believe it either, I will say we were on the back side by the ditch where it gets deeper and not on anchor working the edge, but your right we caught mostly bsb. We caught 4 nice flounder that day. But that was 5 or 6 years ago.

6HI has been producing a lot of BSB. I have been a few times this year and limited out rather quickly. I had a couple Barracuda swimming around the boat today trying to catch fish coming up and going back down.
