Hiltons vs. RipCharts vs. Roffs

I know that this has probably discussed to death at some point in time but as of now (2016) given the latest, CURRENT features of these services, what is the consensus for use off OUR coast here in SC? Please give your opinion/preference on the respective service’s accuracy and results and NOT on ease of use with I-phones, droids, etc.

Thanks

I’ve used roffs and ripcharts. If you put a little time into figuring out how to read them and put some of your own numbers in bang for your buck ripcharts is my choice. I’ve had good luck using roffs reports but at the cost ripcharts is a much better choice for me.

I have always used Roffs and found the information usually accurate and helpful for planning. For the last several trips I have printed a free SST map from Rutgers, used my calipers and plotted out numbers that so far have been as accurate in terms of temp breaks as the Roffs stuff and its free. Roffs gives you the number of days a pattern has been in place which is a little more work with the Rutgers maps but in general I am just looking for the gulf stream edge or eddies to decide whether to go N or S and how far out to run before dropping lines and I can get that with the free SST maps.
