Anyone recommend a place in Mt. P to get a hitch installed on a Ford Explorer at a good price? We have one from Uhaul on my wife’s car but didn’t know if that’s the best option? Thx
It’s not in Mt.Pleasant, but Corbin’s in N. Chs is a good place for installing hitches.
its not in mt p, but corbins hitch is about the best in town
If you’re even remotely mechanically inclined, order one from Advance Auto or Auto Zone and install it yourself. You can get one vehicle specific for your Explorer. I put one on my '06 Toyota Tundra a few yrs. ago. No holes to drill, just line the holes up and bolt on. It took me all of 45 minutes, by my self, including hooking up the wiring for a trailer. Definitely beats the $80.00 or more per hour labor charge for a “professional” to do it.

I wouldn’t say that I’m not mechanically inclined, but when it come to something like a hitch, major plumbing or electric, I tend to rather rely on the pros for those jobs. A little screw up can cause big problems with those types of things.
Corbin’s would be my choice also.

Most vehicles have mounting points (threaded holes for bolts) for hitches. I bought a hitch for my wife’s car for less than $100 from etrailer.com (Reese or Hidden Hitch) and had it on in about 45 minutes. I am at that point where I can still lay on the driveway and save $50 - $75 bucks so I do it.

If you order a hitch and get the proper mounting hardware, I would be happy to install it for you. I have everything we need and my fee is real cheap… Most jobs only require a “thanks-you” although the more involved jobs also require a case og Coors Light with the Thank-you… PM me if you want to go this route.
As fas as trailer light harness, you can buy a harness kit for most vehicles at northern tool that simply require you to unplug a connector and plug in the new harness in between the two connectors you unplugged… Takes a few seconds:sunglasses:

Thanks for all the advice all. Very helpful.
No PM… Either didn’t go through or there is a delay…
