Hobie Fishing World Championships (Very Pic Heavy)

As a lot of you know, I was fortunate enough to be a member of the US Kayak Fishing Team again this year. We traveled half way around the world to compete against anglers from across the globe in Australia. I ended up finishing 7th but I also was the highest placing international angler, had the largest one day bag, and big fish on day 1. This was my first live weigh in tournament and it something I hope to see more. For more information and pictures go to www.hobiefishingworlds.com or check out my Facebook page.

These picture are from fishing in Queensland in Northern Australia with fellow St. Croix pro staffer Peter Agapiou. This place was the most beautiful place I have ever fished. Tropical ran forest covered mountain islands, mangroves, turtles, dugongs, crocs, and much more. We ended up catching 2 species of snapper, 4 species of grouper, jacks, queenfish, black barramundi, and barramundi. This last picture is a massive 43.5" beast!

Cool pics, looks like a great trip.

The 2nd one is my favorite, the Hobie armada ready for deployment.

What model Hobie kayak is that? It looks to have: comfy seat, on-boat trolley, live-well, I guess it has that pedal flipper drive thing(?), pole, etc.

That is the Hobie Pro Angler 14. They were all equipped with live-wells, mirage drives, the new Power Pole minis, and Lowrance Elite 5s.

Thanks for the reply. Seems to be the top of the line in kayak fishing kayaks for sure.

Congrats, what a great opportunity to see a little more of the world.

Great pics, thanks!
