Thinking about this for a fishing oriented boat.At this point I don’t think I want the full blown pro fisher.Anybody got or tried one?
It will be a month or two before I can go for a test drive.Is it practical to stand in an Outback?
I have the Hobie Outback 2014 model. It is an amazing kayak and I highly recommend it. It is very easy to stand up in…I have actually strapped a cooler to the center of the boat and stood up on it to increase my range of visibility when sight fishing. It will save you a lot of time going from spot to spot, just remember to wash off the mirage pedals and rudder once you are done fishing. Also the cart system designed for the hobie kayaks is a must if you are going to be moving it a lot (it will make loading it up in your car and transporting it to ramps/ launches much easier). The 2015 model has a flatter floor, which is a bit wider, and it has a seat that adjusts in height - makes standing much easier. I fish out of an Outback…let me know if you’d like to try one out.
