Hobie sailing rudder modification

I like my sailing rudder but have to pull it up alot in the skinny water I fish in so decided to cut about 3 inches off it to make it the same length as the standard rudder. Looks like it will work just fine.ill be testing it out when the weather gets nice maybe next weak. Tried to post a pic but not letting me right now.

I ended up putting the stock rudder back on my Outback for that very same reason…

Thats what I was going to do but figured might as well try to shorten the sailing rudder first. Since I already had it. If it works it will be best of both worlds. Lol

Tested out the sailing rudder modification. Works great no noticeable negative side effects.
