HOLE SHOT

I have a 24’ Shearwater with 250 Yammie 4 stroke. My hole shot has deteriorated and boat does not seem to jump on plane. Wondering if the plastic bushing in the prop may be the culprit. I have spun a hub before but not sure if this could be the problem. Have changed nothing on boat since purchased in 2006. Any ideas appreciated.

dirty bottom! think the prop bushing would blow all the way out.

Is that boat foam injected? You need to weight it.

I AM EAST COOPER ANY WHERE OVER HERE TO WEIGH ONE.

take the prop off and put a small mark on the bushing and prop using a sharpie. Run it, then check and see if it moved.

It ain’t no mystery…this beer’s history!

I AGREE weigh the boat.

does it still run the same WOT?
if so, its not prop or dirty bottom or water in hull
is it idling at 750rpms or 900rpms?

CHRIS I THINK IDLE IS 750 DID NOT PAY CLOSE ATTENTION. IS MOTOR NOT REVVING UP FAST ENOUGH? IS IT VARIABLE TIMING OF MOTOR? I AM NO MECHANIC, I AM A LAND SURVEYOR AND NEED ALL THE HELP AND ADVISE I CAN USE.

the f250 is a variable valve timing motor.
if the variable timing is malfunctioning, the motor will idle great, and run smoothly throughout the throttle range, but it will have very sluggish midrange performance.
if it is a VVT issue, it is probably NOT a DIY project.
requires computer to watch what motor is doing.
