Homosassa/Crystal River Guides

All,

I’ll be down in this area the first week of March and wanted to know if any of y’all have ever chartered in this area. The house we’ve rented is on the water, and according to the owner, reds and trout can be caught in the back yard, so I think I’d prefer an offshore charter. However, ANY ■■■■■■■■, inshore or off, would be greatly appreciated. As usual, thank you for your input.

If you haven’t get on the Florida Sportsman forum and see if you can buddy up with some one while your there, at the very least you can pick some information up, that’s all I have which may be redundant. Good luck, and post some photos of a out of town report.

Don’t know any guides but, that is a great area. We’ve stayed just south of there in Weekiwachee. We usually go in the Summer during scallop season. The above suggestion is a good one, I have been on that forum a few times and got some good info.

Call the dive shop at the Plantation Inn at Crystal River. There is a Captain that picked clients up everyday while I was there last summer that had a 33 Worldcat that brought in piles of Grouper and snapper. Can’t remember his name.

Thanks for the input, y’all. I go back and forth about whether or not to pull the boat down. What would y’all do?

I’d pull the boat. Fished that area a lot in my own boat. Never had any trouble finding fish. I’ve got a couple good friends who live there and might could help you with some local knowledge.

Take the boat, its not a bad haul and it is worth having it down there.

10-4. I was leaning toward pulling it down, as it’ll be nice to be able to just hop on and go. As usual, thanks for all the ■■■■■■■■.
